Child, Teen, Family and Adult Therapist

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” — Maya Angelou
My goal is to help littles to adults and their families respond to life situations in ways that build resilience and competence.
We'll work together to unpack your questions and needs. You'll leave with useful skills (we are big on building skills here at AMANI) and a plan. Whether you're learning how to live with a neurodevelopmental difference such as ADHD or Autism Spectrum concerns, learning to manage and regulate big feelings, mood swings, or fear that is controlling your life, I will both support and challenge you, listen to you and educate you, care for you and help you develop resilience. We'll be in continuous conversation about what's working and what's so we can adapt along the way.
I love working with people as they develop. Each developmental stage is important and may present specific challenges to navigate. While I love working with teens and adults, I also love working with littles. My experience working in a Montessori classroom was a beloved part of my professional journey. I love providing a solid presence for children as they navigate developing independence, resilience, and self-confidence in the face of challenge. I also enjoy working with parents and caregivers and helping to increase parental skill such that the whole family learns to regulate.
I see therapy as a team effort. Change happens when we understand what is going on, practice new responses in real life, and move toward what matters even when discomfort is still there.Healing is a process of learning new ways to live with what has happened, so it no longer has to run the whole story. With the right support, clear goals, and practice, anyone can make lasting changes and move toward a more fulfilling, authentic life.
I am easygoing and approachable. I appreciate humor and value moments that lighten the room (when helpful). Give me a call. Let's use understanding, skills and humor to get you (or your kiddo or family) feeling better.
I have completed my Master's Degree. I am in the final stages of my doctoral degree and am a Supervised Therapist with AMANI Clinical Services until the end of July 2027. I am supervised by the Supervisor Team at AMANI: Dr. Laura Daniels, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Nikki Massey-Hastings, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, HSP, PMH-C, Dr. Mary Collins, PhD, LCPC, and Amanda Owen, MA, LCPC.
Give me a call. Let's get everyone feeling better.
***At AMANI Clinical Services, all child and family therapists are trained extensively on Dr. Hastings’ Harmonizing Your Home Program and use it as the foundation for treatment. Harmonizing Your Home Program©2012 is a combination of several of the most effective transdiagnostic child/family treatments available into a unique program. It has been consistently successful at reducing damaging child behavior and symptomatology (anxiety symptoms, physical aggression, verbal aggression, compulsions, defiant and oppositional behavior, school refusal, tantrums, etc.) by 90 percent at the 2 week post-launch mark. The increase in safety creates a foundation to build healthier, more fulfilling family bonds. Positive family interactions effectively reduce symptoms. Progress made is resistant to relapse. Response to treatment is individualized and not guaranteed. Families with the best outcomes had motivated parents. We work with families every day who are experiencing real, lasting change and increasing peace-making and peace-keeping in their families. ***
As a Person....
In my free time, I am an enthusiastic sports fan, which I heavily lean towards soccer and basketball (but I’m trying to expand my interests!) I also enjoy music, dance, and spending time with family and friends, often sharing laughter and memorable moments.
