Emilia Ollearis, MA, Licensed Professional Counselor
Child, Teen, Family and Adult Therapist
"Some people feel everything deeply. They know no other way" - Avijeet Das. Feelings are a deeply important part of life and relationships. However, when people struggle to ride the waves of feelings, they can start to develop symptoms. I have a particular interest in helping people, including the littlest people, who face behavioral challenges and/or struggle to understand and express their emotions. I especially love working with those who experience emotions intensely.
I love helping deeply feeling people find freedom and grounding in their experience of themselves and their lives. I also love helping the families of deeply feeling children better understand their children and helping them better respond to their children.
I am also passionate about supporting adults navigating life transitions, emotional distress, and relationship difficulties—including those related to separation and divorce.
To help you, I'll focus on your, and your family's strengths and relational history to help you and your family better understand yourself and each other. My goal is to foster emotional insight, resilience, and reconnection as these are the foundation of peace.
Let's make sense of how things became difficult and I'll provide an active, results-oriented approach regardless of which type of pain you or your child are in. At AMANI, we want to do something about the symptoms, not only talk about them. I thoughtfully integrate evidence-based treatments to help reduce your symptoms as quickly as possible.
Like all therapists at AMANI, there will also be a lot of skills training to address the weak points in child, parent, and family functioning, particularly parental responses to child emotions, behaviors, struggles, and symptoms. We’ll collaborate and work as a team through your journey to feeling and functioning better.
I have a strong foundation supporting individuals and families across the lifespan. My decade of clinical experience working with people (including the littlest people), with many different needs, in many different settings including inpatient care, residential programs, military bases, and community mental health centers has prepared me to support you and the ones you love. I love working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and figuring out the best customized sequence of approaches to help you and your family find relief.
I received my undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Child, Adult, & Family Services with a specialization in child development from birth to age 5. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) at Midwestern University.
Give me a call. Let's get everyone feeling better.
I have completed my Master's Degree licensed as a professional counselor. I am in the final stages of my doctoral degree and am a Supervised Therapist with AMANI Clinical Services until the end of June 2026.
***At AMANI Clinical Services, all child and family therapists are trained extensively on Dr. Hastings’ Harmonizing Your Home Program and use it as the foundation for treatment. Harmonizing Your Home Program©2012 is a combination of several of the most effective transdiagnostic child/family treatments available into a unique program. It has been consistently successful at reducing damaging child behavior and symptomatology (anxiety symptoms, physical aggression, verbal aggression, compulsions, defiant and oppositional behavior, school refusal, tantrums, etc.) by 90 percent at the 2 week post-launch mark. The increase in safety creates a foundation to build healthier, more fulfilling family bonds. Positive family interactions effectively reduce symptoms. Progress made is resistant to relapse. Response to treatment is individualized and not guaranteed. Families with the best outcomes had motivated parents. We work with families every day who are experiencing real, lasting change and increasing peace-making and peace-keeping in their families. ***
As a Person....
In my free time, I like to do crafty things, play video games, watch a show with my husband, and snuggle and play with my kittens.
